Content Rewriting
Upgrading underperforming pages for search, clarity and user intent, while preserving the URL and useful ranking history where possible.
Improve the page you already have
A page that already has ranking history, links and search visibility can be a better starting point than creating a new page from scratch. Content Rewriting is designed for pages that have become thin, dated, poorly structured or less competitive over time.
We begin by reviewing why the page is underperforming. The problem may be outdated information, a change in search intent, stronger competitor pages, weak structure, insufficient depth or a mismatch between what the page offers and what searchers now expect.
The rewrite then addresses the identified problem rather than simply replacing the existing words. Useful material is retained, weak or outdated sections are improved, the structure is made clearer, and the page is aligned more closely with the current search results and the needs of the reader.
Where appropriate, we also improve internal links, headings, page structure and relevant schema. The aim is not to make the page longer for its own sake, but to make the existing page more useful, more competitive and easier for both readers and search systems to understand.
The URL remains unchanged by default, so existing links and accumulated page history are not unnecessarily discarded.
Who it's for
Especially where the page once performed better and has become less competitive over time.
Existing visibility and authority can make an improvement more practical than starting from zero.
Update outdated statistics, references, examples, links and sections that no longer reflect the current market.
Improve structure, clarity and calls to action where the content earns the visit but does not help the visitor take the next step.
Bring surviving content back into line with the current business, products, terminology and site structure.

Why HL Digital
A page is not rewritten simply because it is old. We first identify what needs to change so the work addresses a real problem.
Existing ranking history, useful information and relevant sections are assets. We do not replace good content simply to make the page look different.
You receive a summary of the changes made, so you can review what was improved and why rather than comparing two versions line by line.
Limitations
A content rewrite cannot create authority that the page or site does not have. If the underlying problem is technical, structural, competitive or related to overall site authority, rewriting the words alone may not be sufficient.
Search intent can also change substantially. If the search results now favour a completely different page type, for example, a tool, product page or comparison rather than an article, a conventional rewrite may not be the right solution. We flag that where it becomes apparent during the review.
A rewrite also cannot guarantee a particular ranking, traffic level or conversion rate.
